Documentation
Everything you need to turn a repo, URL, PDF, PowerPoint, or research paper into a narrated video — install, create, edit in Studio, choose voices, bring your own keys, and export locally.

Quickstart
From download to a finished MP4 in five steps. The whole flow runs on your machine — your source files never leave your computer.
- 1

- 3
Let the agent build
Poko reads your source and builds a narrated draft in a local workspace.

Get started
Install & sign in
The app is self-contained — Node, Chromium, FFmpeg, and the renderer are bundled.
Download & install
macOS 11+ or Windows 10+ (Apple Silicon, Intel, and Windows x64). On Windows the installer adds a Start-menu entry and optional desktop shortcut.
First launch
Sign in with your Poko account. Your plan, balance, and AI credits load automatically — you're ready to create.
System requirements
8GB RAM recommended and roughly 2GB free disk per project for scenes, assets, and renders.
Uninstall
Windows: Settings → Apps → Poko Motion. macOS: move Poko Motion from Applications to Trash.
Get started
Create a video
Every project starts from a source card on the dashboard. Pick one and the agent does the rest.
Repo to video
Select a local project folder. The agent scans code, README, screenshots, and brand assets, then builds a narrated walkthrough or motion ad.
URL to video
Paste a website or blog URL. Poko captures the real page and turns it into a short motion video.
PPT to video
Select a .pptx. Poko extracts slide text and images, groups them into stronger scenes, and adds narration and motion.
PDF to video
Select a deck, whitepaper, or report. The file stays local while Poko turns key pages into animated scenes.
Research paper to video
Generates a ~1.5–2 min explainer with figures, tables, and teaching animations.
Animation maker
Prompt any premium motion graphic — no source repo required.
Workspace
Dashboard & projects
The dashboard is your home base: source cards on top, your projects below, and a slim sidebar with your workspace, navigation, and live balance.

Sidebar
Switch workspaces up top, jump to Projects, Settings, or Usage, and watch your glass balance card and project quota at the bottom.
Cards view
The default — a clean grid of your recent videos with live thumbnails.
Agent canvas
Switch with the tab on the right to see every project on an infinite canvas.
Workspace
Agent canvas
A full-bleed, infinite canvas of every project. Live agents glow with their latest activity, and the stats sit in the middle of the tab row.
Create a video
Live agents
Active generations show a colored card with their newest step, and connect to the workspace hub.
Arrange freely
Drag cards anywhere, drop text labels by double-clicking, and your layout is saved per workspace.
Pan & zoom
Scroll to pan, pinch or ⌘-scroll to zoom, and hit Fit to reset the view.
Editing
Editing in Studio
Open any project into Studio: chat on the left, a live preview on the right. Describe changes in plain English and watch them apply.
Chat
You
Make this a 45s motion ad with more kinetic text.
Poko Agent
Updating scenes, narration timing, and transitions…
Launch video, rebuilt by AI.
Chat-based editing
Try “make it faster”, “zoom into the pricing card”, or “make this a 45s motion ad”. The agent edits the files and refreshes the preview.
Live preview
Runs inside the app. When the agent saves, the preview reloads so you can keep iterating.
Beat sheet
Turn it on to have the agent post a full scene plan in chat and wait for your confirmation before building.
Editing
Voices & narration
Pick a narration voice in Settings → Voices. Use built-in Poko voices, connect a provider with your own key, or clone your own voice.

Poko voices
Built-in and ready to use on every plan — no key required.
BYOK providers
Cartesia, ElevenLabs, and Straico are bring-your-own-key. Add a key under Provider API keys to unlock that catalog — nothing loads until a key is saved.
Clone your voice
Record or upload a short sample, accept the consent, and save a clone to narrate with your own voice.
Editing
Studio defaults
Settings → Studio settings sets the defaults applied to new videos. You can still override any of them per chat.
Show beat sheet
Agent posts the scene plan and waits for confirmation before building.
Generate voiceover
AI narration on by default — turn off for silent videos.
Add background music
One workspace-level music bed wired under the narration.
Add sound effects
Sparse SFX cues placed on real visual beats.
Billing & output
AI models & BYOK
Use included Poko credits by default, or switch to your own provider keys for direct billing. BYOK is available on Pro and Agency plans.
Settings
Billing mode
Poko credits or your own keys.
Poko credits
Bring your own key
Your key, your bill — no Poko credits used
SFX & background music still use Poko credits for now. BYOK for audio is coming soon.
Poko credits
Plans include AI credit for agent/model usage, billed at provider cost. Starter has a fixed project limit; Pro and Agency unlock unlimited projects and BYOK.
Bring your own key
With your own key, agent + model usage is billed directly by your provider — Poko credits aren't touched.
One exception: audio
SFX and background music still draw from Poko credits for now, since BYOK isn't supported for audio yet. BYOK for SFX & music is coming soon.
Gateways & local models
Route through any Anthropic-compatible gateway, or a local server like Ollama / LM Studio (e.g. Base URL http://localhost:11434).
Billing & output
Rendering & export
Exports render on your own machine. There's no cloud queue and no source upload.
Render locally
Click Export when ready. Videos render with your hardware — MP4 is the default for sharing.
Render settings
Choose resolution, frame rate, quality, format, and render workers before exporting.
Where files live
Your source folder stays read-only. Poko keeps generated scenes, assets, logs, and renders in a separate local workspace; the cloud only stores project metadata and billing.
Help
Troubleshooting
Rendering fails
Check free disk space, confirm source files haven't moved, and re-open the project. Still stuck? Send the log from Help → Export Logs.
Credits depleted
Top up from billing or upgrade to Pro/Agency for BYOK. Just topped up? Hit the refresh icon on the balance card to sync.
Preview not loading
Restart the app. If it continues, grab Help → Export Logs and contact support.
Voice catalog empty
BYOK providers show an empty state until their key is saved under Settings → Voices → Provider API keys.
